Over the years, Dr. Bosley witnessed many of his fellow soldiers returning home with suboptimal symptoms. While these concerns are typically addressed by the VA hospital, the treatment often involves antidepressant medication like SSRIs, which may exacerbate certain symptoms and even pose a risk of suicide for the soldiers. Unfortunately, the assessment of the patient’s testosterone level is frequently overlooked by primary care physicians. Even when tested, these levels are often deemed to be within the “normal range” rather than being evaluated to ensure they are at an optimal level for the individual.
Behind the ‘Why’ at Precision Wellness:
There is an epidemic of patients currently dealing with symptoms related to hormone imbalance due to a multitude of factors. Men and women, young and old, present to their primary care physician every day looking for help treating their symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, decreased libido, increased body fat, decreased muscle mass, anxiety, depression and insomnia. Without addressing hormone/thyroid imbalance as the root cause of their symptoms, these patients are placed on prescription medications, many of which have severe side effects, further decreasing quality of life. If the hormone levels are evaluated by their doctor, many patients are told "everything is normal" and they continue to feel terrible. Dr. Taylor Bosley created Precision Wellness Group to offer patients an evidence-based approach to medicine that focuses on the root cause, not just treating the symptoms.
